How could a building interact with an other building?

Interactions could be related to:

CONCEPT

FUNCTION

AESTHETICS

FLOW OF PEOPLE

FLOW OF ENERGY - SOUND, WIND, SUN, HEAT, LIGHT MATERIALS

THE LOTUS Project is going to focus mostly on transforming waste or by-products of certain activities happening in and around the site. Mainly the focus of interaction is going to be on the

"FLOW OF RESOURCES/WASTE" (Sharing the same idea of Bjarke Ingels' Sustainable hedonist)TEDx Video

One of the projects which I felt to have a lot of potential for interactivity in project33. THE BREWERY In researching on the by-product of brewing, there was an interesting discovery on how the spent brewing grains could be used. http://beeractivist.com/2007/04/15/grains-of-possibility-ways-to-use-spent-brewing-grains/ This discarded by-product could be used to feed animals and the rest could be used as 'biological mass' to fertilize the soil in the project

More projects and activities are being studied in order to know what unwanted waste could be used in order for the lotus to flourish.

One more obvious interaction which the project is going to have is the RDM's dirty water. Apart from being a floating structure, the project will find ways in which the dirty water could be filtered and cleaned out in order to create an attraction, hence creating the extraordinary from the mundane. In what other clever ways can water be used apart from growing crops and attracting activity with a water park?

Further interactions are all focusing on the main research question the project have adopted;

WHAT COULD BLOSSOM FROM THE DISCARDED, THE UNWANTED, THE MUNDANE??

Further activities/processes to be studied:

RDM-Innovation Dock: What kind of waste is being produced? how can the lotus benetif from it?

Project11: Food Centrdm

Project22: An other project working on the idea of aquaphonics. How could these two projects be combined?

Project27: How could Domestic Waste be use for the lotus' advantage?
