The Digital Gardener is going to focus mostly on the FLOW OF RESOURCES/WASTE (Sharing the same idea of Bjarke Ingels' Sustainable hedonist)TEDx Video
More projects and activities are being studied in order to know what unwanted waste could be used in order for the lotus to flourish.
One more obvious interaction which the project is going to have is the RDM's dirty water. Apart from being a floating structure, the project will find ways in which the dirty water could be filtered and cleaned out in order to create an attraction, hence creating the extraordinary from the mundane.
In what other clever ways can water be used apart from growing crops and attracting activity with a water park?
In further researching alternative methods of filtering water, a new interaction emerged; Contaminated water and oysters. Ted Video Arch Kate Orff devised a system known as 'oyster-tecture' to filter the water of New York with oysters. According to Orff, one oyster could filter up to 50gallons of water per day. Why not in the Netherlands, Why Not at the RDS? This could filter the waters while generating jobs. Oysters = Pearls?? Could really the 'muck' be transformed into 'gold'?
Further interactions are all focusing on the main research question the project have adopted;
WHAT COULD BLOSSOM FROM THE DISCARDED, THE UNWANTED, THE MUNDANE??
