Elements of Interaction

OpenHouse - RE-RDM

OpenHouse - projects

Within the RDM-dock, OpenHouse is situated in the Learn&Play area. In this particular environment, students, tourists, businessmen and other come together to learn and play about sustainability. This conceptual idea will be materialized into a central workshop-square where courses can be done, installations can be exposed and the people can meet.

Where The Wave Phenomena and Ez RDM will focus on the information exploitation, the Continuality project will provide a set of different public typologies such as a park, a route and the workshop square.

Hence, the Cave provides the OpenHouse with practical space for their laundry, bike-storage and a workshop-room. Hereby, the workshopsquare becomes not only an important infrastructural node, but also a very practical one.

OpenHouse - existing buildings

RDM-campus has a lot of potential tenants for OpenHouse. The growing amount of students that the campus has can be housed in the area. Because student-campus is tucked in between both the dock as the existing buildings, it also forms a lively connection between the old and the new.

OpenHouse - persons

Students are the main clients of OpenHouse. The main interaction in this project is between the users and the moving structure. When movement is being measured, local elements will move from each other. Those moved elements create spaces which are unique in size form and movement. The future residents can share, open, and close their space whenever they want. Rather than paying per month, the residents pay per second and their preferable conditions. In this way the tenants' will become more aware about the amount of energy space they use & reserve, which could aid a more sustainable way of living.
