Main visible interaction
The main interaction is the one with Veni-Vidi. The Vfood Restaurant is acting like an extension for Marvin’s project. Activities from his project are integrated in the Vfood Restaurant. Those activities are mostly concentrated in the bottom near the water.
What does the interaction mean?
The interaction offers the advantage, that there are more potential customizers inside my project. On the other hand it means that the floating hotels from Marvin’s can focus on the main function. The challenge to establish this interaction goes beyond putting some activities in the Vfood Restaurant. The architectural language of Marvin’s project is integrated in the design of the Vfood Restaurant. This results in contradictions, and expresses the interaction.

Other visible connections
The other visible connections are the one with the De Geleerde Netwerk and Rejuvenative Sandwich. Near the tower is a little pier located witch we start using as public space. Both neighbours create routes to this square. The route from one of the neighbors passes through the tower. Together with other streams of traffic it creates a node inside the tower. Potential visitors are walking through the tower and experience the tower from inside.
What does the interaction mean?
The interaction offers a better connection between the projects. At the same time it creates a public space that has to compete with the node inside the tower. For that reason the location of the Vfood Restaurant has slightly changed. Now the public area and the node united in a better and stronger public area.

Interaction with the side
Based on the concept of the pavilion the interaction with the surrounding is one of the key elements. The first impressions are the large buildings on the side, but when you look carefully you can see it is a product of many initiatives from different companies. The project would base on the same spirit. A large building with a human scale built for the people of the Heijplaat. The tower is gently placed in the surrounding on the line where water and land meet.
Non-visible interaction with other pavilions
The success of the restaurant depends on the number of visitors. Beside the people of the village of Heijplaat there are 24 projects that can provide me costumers. The non-visible interaction is based on that need.
This interaction is based on the program of the VFOOD RESTAURANT and the project Food Centrdm. Both projects are focusing on urban farming. The amount of food that one project can produce is not enough for the area. Also the fact that vegetables have to deal with different seasons makes it almost impossible to stand alone. Through collaboration the projects can adjust the different vegetables they produce. In this manner the two projects can produce a wide range of different vegetables throughout the year.
