Clean water floats, stretched between piers

Functional elements such as different water temperature tanks, saunas, different-speed-flowing artificial currents, ballast tanks, visitor areas, service areas and pedestrian circulation, will form the outer membrane of the main swimming and diving area. Heat transfer between the different-temperature environments will be managed by this outer shell. The Public Baths will sink, reach neutral buoyancy or float close to the surface or just partially submerge. These positions are easily attainable by using buoyancy tanks.

The design tries to take the idea of the concept literally, streams of points are defined and joined into triangled geometry to develop and refine the desired paths inside the dock. The thin "water" sheet is corrugated and geometry the primary structure is added.

The definition of the right paths lead to the idea that the underwater character of a public bath was something to profit from. Underwater currents have been a source of inspiration due to their dymnamic character. Identifying "currents" came as a way of defining different water qualities. The styling focuses on capturing the dynamics and spatial richness of transitions between several "states of any entitity in water: the dry dock, the wreck and the diving bell.
