Piezoelectricity (pressure)

Piezoelectricity is harvesting the kinetic energy generated by pressure. In this context it can be seen as piezoelectric energy generating floors or devices which require any type of pressure.

Energy generating floors in a subway station in Tokyo.

They placed these floors under the gates in the station. A total of 25 m2 floor that generates 1400 kW a day. Enough to power up the stations lights and displays.
