The 500,000m3 build space in this program somehow holds the key to unlock this remote urban district. Coming of new settlers can be a good start of the whole progress. Before the implantation of all kinds of commercial and cultural public programs, diversifying users firstly bring in new demands and supplies, constantly and inexhaustibly stimulate interaction and transformation in various social activities. Also, preserving users on site improves the vitality of inhabitant at night.

This multifunctional transport hub, which acts as the interface of the harbor towards the city, aiming not only to provide the campus with good infrastructural quality, also serving all our fellow projects. Located at the northern edge of the port, it has direct connection to the shipping line and physical connections to the landscaping project "Continuality". For inner-port transport, the hub has a dock on the south for the "Islands".

The project has 6622m2 enclosed inner space and 4159m2 outdoor space which includes a 420m docking line. The regular transportation includes ferry(arrive at every 10 minute), 500 people cruise ship(arrive at every day), mini cargo, water taxi, yacht,Islands, helicopter(temporary), bike, pedestrian. The hub has access for these transportation on various levels.

The whole building is an integral space and system without unidirectional flow or restricted functional unit.

This single project tries to intervene and germinal from the Research, Design & Manufacturing mode of today’s RDM campus. Attracted by RDM’s information research resources and techniques, the coming studio, workshop or small-sized company will need a space to settle, interact and burgeon. Looking as a whole, the project should not only be accessible from the campus, but participate in the public ecosystem in the area.

Taking the development timing into consideration, the project tries to exploit in a progressive way and synchronized with the investment process. Starting with an open space frame, the customized lab unit “incubates” on the structure according to the need and state of the settler. The constantly change space in between the labs conduct the interactivities in the building.
