Autoconstruct is a floating, multi-activity area which is undergoing permanent change. Buildings and landscape are undergoing construction in the floating dock enabling inhabitants to customize their accomodation and surroundings to their ever-changing needs. A democratic (online) platform will give inhabitants the chance to choose the design and function of communal areas and organize cohousing initiatives.
Because of its modularity the project can grow from investment to investment, reducing the risk of developers and homeowners.
The project is a critique on the inability of conventional architecture to adapt to changing demands from industry and society.
