The new position of the Babel Tower was determined by several factors. Mainly seen as an icon due to its height and symbolism it aims to be visible and to connect with the movement of people. Thus forming an artificial island, which will function as a public park, next to the 'transport hub' [1] and the 'wave phenomena' [2] will enable a closer interaction of the visitors, either visual or physical. The 'collage' of different projects closely surrounding the Babel Tower and forming landmarks will highly affect the 'carving' and 'crafting' of the tower using the in-between space but still stand free and keep its entity as a whole.

One important factor that will define the character of the interactions is that the landscaped surface needs to be surrounded with water, so no direct, physical connection will be established to the land or pier. Movement will happen mainly by boat or through other projects.

A second important factor about the position of the tower is the connection with other projects forming interactions that do not focus on the obvious, physical connection but more on the conceptual and architectural advancement. These interactions either supplement each other or add something to the substance of the project. So these interactions is a topic that has to be studied not only and solely to relation to the Tower but also to secondary interactions that are formed between each other- through the Tower. Because of its peculiarity in form and character the Babel Tower seeks elements that can empower each others philosophy and form through an extended 'journey' of ideas and transformation.

1) Variations [3] Both projects can be seen as very similar or entirely contrasting. They share the importance of water, as purifying and strong, defining, surrounding. Being so different, these projects can complement each other. The project needs a powerful gateway into RDM during the day, but a gateway that allows for Variations not to lose its ambition to work with water in the purest way possible.

The movement of 'Variations' allows it to attach to the landscape of the Babel Tower during the day hours and form an extended landscaped park. Thus, the two projects get to read as one, allowing the flow of people and information from one to the other. The dispatch when the night falls will transform both project to a different state creating diversity and re inventing their relationship with their surroundings.
