Structure

The main construction of the building is independent from the structure of the facade. The main construction is inspired by the project Nesselande Cockpit from ONL. Here the main structure are columns that wear the floor. The roof structure is independent of the main structure.

The structure of the facade of the building is inspired by the trick with the orange. The pattern that appears when you pull the parts of the orange apart is the inspiration of the construction of the facade.

The Wave Phenomena is accesseble by different ways.

accessibility by land The main entrance of the project is clearly recognizable, when the visitor walks through the building he passes the main entrance, and than he can choose is he wants to walk through the exhibition and center of knowlegde, where he can wait for the aqualiner, or take the short cut to the aqualiner. Also the 'activities to visit' are accessible from this side.

accessibility by projects The Wave Phenomena is connected with The Improvement System. This project is the shortcut from the Innovation Dock to the exhibitionhall or the aqualiner. Also people can take a shortcut to the other side of the harbor bij walking through Variations.

accessibility by water The Wave Phenomena is the place where people from the aqualiner can enter the harbor. People enter the Wave Phenomenon and can walk directly to the harbor, but can also easily walk through the exhibition about other projects and get information of the area.
